How can we help?

Contact chris@seawatts.dev for Breathe support. Include your device model, iOS version, and what happened. Please do not send sensitive health information.

Getting started

Choose a rhythm and a background in the short setup, then start breathing. Follow the circle and the Breathe In / Breathe Out cues. You can accept the defaults and change them later.

Changing your rhythm or background

Tap Settings in the corner. Use the preview to try a rhythm, scene, or color. Changes save as you make them. Swipe down or tap Close to return to breathing.

Breathing progress

Progress indicators start off for a quieter screen. In version 1.1, Show breathing dots replaces the numeric count, with an option to fill or empty the dots. Earlier versions offer Show breathing count instead. You can also hide the breathing text.

Playback and your screen

Breathing starts automatically when you open the app and resumes after Settings closes. The session clock continues when you leave and return. Keep screen awake is available in Settings → General (App settings in earlier versions); lock your device or leave the app when you finish.

Mindful moments in version 1.1

Open Settings → Apple Health and enable syncing to count Mindful Minutes while Breathe is in the foreground, open on Apple Watch, or showing a running Lock Screen moment. Foreground use needs no timer. Tap the timer for a 1, 3, or 5 minute guided moment. Lock Screen time stops at that moment’s scheduled end; syncing may finish when you next open Breathe. Review or delete saved entries in Apple Health. Reminders and Lock Screen preferences are available in Settings → Reminders & Lock Screen.

Settings offers haptics and voice guidance. Voice cues continue through a timed moment while your phone is locked. Apple Watch can guide you with wrist-down haptics; leaving the Watch app ends its moment. Phone and Watch keep Health and analytics choices separate. If access is denied, manage Health or notification permission in the relevant Apple settings, then return to Breathe and enable the option again.

Saving and moving settings

Preferences are stored locally. Use Export settings in Settings to save a backup in Files, and Import settings from Files to restore one. Imported choices take effect when you confirm Use settings. There is no account. Newer builds share supported breathing preferences with a paired Watch; older builds keep those preferences separate. Personal photos and Health permissions are not transferred.

The browser experience

Try Breathe in your browser. The browser experience retains its own settings on this website. Use Export settings to move compatible preferences to the native app. Native bundled landscapes and onboarding are available in the iPhone and iPad app.

Privacy and terms

Usage analytics is optional. Find its explanation and toggle in Settings → App settings → Usage analytics on iPhone, iPad, or Watch. Turning it off clears events that have not been sent. The website analytics setting is separate.
